Amethyst is an amazing crystal. Its purple hue draws you into its mystical lore. I use it in many of my jewelry collections because of its many physical, emotional and spiritual healing qualities. I will explain exactly why below.

Amethyst for Stress & Anxiety

Amethyst provides calm, serenity, balance and patience. It helps to release anger, rage, and fear. Amethyst acts as a natural tranquilizer reliving stress and anxiety while ridding your body of negative emotions. Amethyst acts as an energetic shield and helps to clear the mind of self defeating thoughts. Due to its relaxing properties it is helpful to those who suffer from insomnia .

When I am super stressed out, it always helps me to meditate with amethyst. Here is a simple meditation you can do when your feeling anxious. I always keep an Amethyst cluster on my nightstand for this reason, and it helps with dream recall as a bonus.

Sit or lie down in a position you are most comfortable. Hold your Amethyst in your left hand, and begin to focus on your breath. Slowly and deeply, concentrating on your stomach rising and falling as you breathe. Envision a crystal like purple light coming into your body through the crown of your head and filling your body as you breathe in. Now, when you breathe out, imagine a dark smog coming out of your mouth releasing any negative energy, and situations that cause you to feel tension. Do this for at least 10 minutes. You will fell better almost immediately.

Amethyst for Grief and Depression

Amethyst is an amazing stone for grief and depression because it can show you how to let go of control, and trust, so you may see beyond the cycle that consumes you at the moment . This is a stone of transformation promoting inner peace and strength during times of grief. Amethyst can bring us understanding when we are in a transitional period, especially after the loss of a loved one. It helps with depression by transmuting negative energy into positive, and rids the mind of negative, self defeating thoughts.

I find it helpful in times of grief and depression to keep an Amethyst crystal sphere on my nightstand or in the room where i am the most. I even keep one in the Salon I own for this reason. A ball shaped sphere emits energy in all directions equally. A sphere can dramatically shift the energy in a room or space because it disperses it's energy to a larger space.

Amethyst is one of my favorite crystals for protection. It's high frequency purifies the aura of any negative energies or attachments from the spirit world or from others. It creates an invisible energy shield around the body. Because of its strong protection qualities, I find Amethyst helpful when fighting addictions. When a person is suffering from addictions, they have a weak aura, and are more susceptible to negative energy. Amethyst can help to repair holes in the aura, and prevent prevent energies or entities from entering where holes are present. It also helps to identify the root cause of negative unhealthy behaviors that lead to addiction.

Amethyst's high vibration and ability to repel negative energy, makes it a great stone for any space you feel you need extra protection. Using a crystal point is like a beam of positivity. I keep one in my car for protection always. Placing a crystal point in a room will absorb and transmute unwanted negativity, and you will begin to notice an energetic shift in your environment . It will feel uplifted and lighter .

Amethyst Physical Healing Properties

Amethyst is great for treating migraines and tension related headaches. It strengthens the Immune system and reduces pain, bruising and swelling. Amethyst boosts hormone production, tunes the endocrine system and the metabolism . It is excellent for Arthritis, Chronic Fatigue, and Fibromyalgia.

As a treatment for arthritis or any other pain related issue, fill your bathtub with Amethyst crystals and soak . Practice breathing as I stated in the prior meditation above. Envision white light going directly to all areas of pain, and when you breathe out, visualize the pain leaving your body as a grey smog. This is great for stress relief also . You can also use some Lavender essentials oils, which is great for pain and relaxation.
