The Olive Tree has been cultivated in the Holy land in Bethlehem, and has been protected by the Holy Law as well as the Holy Bible since ancient times. Olive wood is cultivated only from pruned branches, and not by destroying the trees. It is said that the Tree Of Life in the Garden of Eden was an olive wood tree. Olive wood offers insight, inspiration, aids in communication, promotes peacefulness, joy and a deep sense of devotion.

  The Olive Tree is significant to all religions. In the Old Testament it was used to anoint prophets and kings, and to light the lamps in the house of God for the symbolic purpose of healing, cleansing, and nourishment 

   In The New Testament, Jesus Christ was described as the "Anointed One" or the Messiah, which means anointed with olive oil. Jesus tells the story of the good samaritan who used olive oil for healing. When Jesus went to Jerusalem he prayed on the Mount of Olives, where he  taught his disciples the word of God. Jesus also prayed under an olive tree after the last supper and before his crucifixion on a cross made from Olive trees near the garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem. This is why Rosary beads are made of Olive Wood. Out of respect, people of the Holy land protect these trees and do not cut them down. 

  The Olive Tree is also considered a symbol of peace. During the great flood, a dove sent by Noah from the arc in search of land, returned with an olive branch in his beak.  Here it symbolized peace and good will, by indicating the end of gods anger. Olive wood symbolizes peace between God and Mankind.

I use Holy Land Olive Wood beads from Bethlehem, mixed with healing gemstones for their sacred nature. They give a more rustic masculine look to mens bracelets, and I mix them with spacers and charms for women's bracelets .
